YTONG is a modern, light weight building block with high insulation values. It replaces the traditional brick, is easier to build and makes life easy for electrician, plumber and plasterer, inside as well as outside.
Thermal inslation is fantastic. At this moment, having an average temperature of 33 degrees outside with a light breeze, the inside temperatures do not exceed 27 degrees; in winter, with temperatures reaching as low as 10 degrees, inside, we have a comfortable 18 degrees with no help from central heating!
NATURAL STONE. Aegina is famous for its 'pourri' or limestone, found mainly on the North side of the island, whereas dark stone is used elsewhere on the island. Stone is a natural material, that keeps the heat out in the summer and keeps the heat in during the winter. THERMAL WALL INSULATION. When renovating an old, usually poorly insulated house, we nowadays use thermal wall insulation, consisting of a layer of 3 mm glassfiber reinforced mortar, keeping the temperatures inside comfortable, also giving the house a coat against rain. The mortar comes in different colours, so there is no need for painting afterwards.
ELECTRIC FLOORHEATING, the eco-friendly solution. The concrete floor is insulated with EPS blocks. On top of this, the floor heating cable is laid in a bed of concrete, that acts as the mass to be heated. On top of this, the floor, either tiles or even wood, is laid. Thermostats make sure that the temperature remains comfortable with very low energy consumption. There is no fuel needed, no exhaust gases, no pollution.
DOUBLE GLAZING, either set in aluminium or wooden frames, essential to keep the heat out in the summer and the heat inside during the winter.
